A filling replaces part of a tooth that has been lost normally due to decay or trauma

There are numerous ways to fill a tooth either using Amalgam (silver filling) or composite (white filling)

In some cases, where the filling is large, the dentist may choose to produce an ‘Inlay’, either in porcelain, composite or gold.

Amalgams – this is a form of silver filling that is commonly used to replace a tooth. Many people now choose to have their silver fillings replaced by white composite fillings or ceramic inlays to make their smile look healthier and whiter.

White Fillings – Unlike silver (amalgam) fillings, white fillings and inlays stick to the teeth, hence giving strength.

White fillings come in all shades of white, and colour matched correctly to the teeth can appear invisible, restoring the natural appearance of the teeth.
