Tattoo Removal

What Is Laser Tattoo Removal
Almost any tattoo can be removed with the use of our lasers at Tracey Bell. The treatment works by breaking down the particles of ink suspended beneath the skin, enabling your immune system to naturally eliminate them. Three types of laser are employed to remove different colour groups. The number of laser tattoo removal sessions required is normally between 8 and 10 treatments. Benefits of Laser Tattoo Removal at Tracey Bell:- The ability to expose those areas which you may have covered up for years.
- Laser tattoo removal selectively targets and destroys the tattoo without damaging the surrounding tissue.
- Laser tattoo removal can be delivered to specifically destroy different colours, allowing multicoloured tattoos to be treated.
- After treatment the skin is more uniform and natural in appearance – although some skin changes are unavoidable.

Tattoo removal is a permanent treatment and patients should not require any further treatment once their course is complete.
There are no serious risks associated with tattoo removal. The Healthcare Commission monitors our work at Tracey Bell to ensure that laser treatments are carried out to the highest modern standards.
It is worth noting that some tattoos do not respond to laser treatment, although most amateur and professional tattoos will disappear within a number of sessions. Treatments are not carried out under anaesthesia and will cause some discomfort to the patient – not dissimilar to the pain of having a tattoo created in the first place.
After-effects are mild and can include blistering, swelling and redness around the affected area. Darker skin tones will occasionally lighten after treatments – but this usually returns to normal within the year. The skin very rarely displays any permanent after-effects, although some patients have noticed differences in skin texture.
