• Why I started

As a man in a woman's world (I work in an office of 12 women) I heard everyday about looking good. Between the age of 16 and 25 I had worked as a model and the competition was tough but I had inherited my genes from my mother and thankfully my skin was good and I hadn't noticed any severe lines or wrinkles.

However, coming up to my 30th birthday I had noticed that my mid-face was starting to droop and sink a little; something that the camera reminded me of each day. In the office the girls agreed that the lines from my nose to the side of my mouth (naso labial) had deepened and that reducing them would take years off me. I couldn't wear make-up like them! I knew my director had visited Tracey Bell's for treatment before and she looked great, so on her recommendation I booked an appointment.

• The procedure

After meeting Tracey I felt completely reassured. She explained that rejuvenation was for both men and women and that although men were a little slower in catching on, their male client base had dramatically grown over the last four years. So much so I could have a male nurse or doctor if I wished.

I chose Tracey to inject as she had consulted and I felt really relaxed and confident and decided to do it there and then. She applied a cream to my face and left me for about ten minutes reading a magazine as my face went numb. The injections took about five minutes for each side and I had about six on each side. Yes I could feel them and the area stung for about five minutes after, but all in all it was no worse than having my eyebrows waxed.

The doctor had explained that there may be reddening in the area that had been injected but it died down within two hours. The area was a little tender for 48 hours but the results were amazing. My youth had been restored, I could smile and I felt great when I looked in the mirror immediately after.

The aesthetician then applied a special mineral make-up over the area and the redness disappeared. She explained that the mineral was completely natural; an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and you could even sleep in it - just what the doctor ordered! Now I never need to think about wearing make-up. I felt so good I went back to the office immediately.

• What suprised me most

I couldn't believe how well it worked. It looks so natural. I've given away my secret to a few good friends, both male and female, and half of the office has been rejuvenated now! It is no more expensive than my gym membership for the year, and I get the results immediately without the wait and without the time, sweat and effort. True value for money and I look good!

• Our verdict

As the cheeks lose youthful fullness, the nasolabial folds become heavier and can produce a sad appearance. This process is a natural part of ageing and normally begins in the early 20s.
